We couldn’t be happier with Discover More’s low APR of 10.99% with a grace period of 25 days. Even better is the 0% introductory APR they offer for 6 months. While this is a great deal, we still would have liked to see the intro period extended to 12 months. We were also glad to see that Discover More has no annual fees.

Essential Features:  

Every card comes with its own bells and whistles, but there are a few features we have come to expect from any credit card. The first is some sort of financial education system. Discover More offers a very comprehensive financial education package designed to assist the cardholder in better understanding credit, money management and the ways to prevent identity theft. If you are a first time cardholder we thoroughly recommend you take advantage of Discover’s financial education resources.

Discover More also offers timely e-mail reminders which notify the card user if they’re approaching their line of credit, or if a payment is due. This tool allows you to think about all the other things in your life, and not worry about remembering when your bill pay period is nearing.

For your convenience, Discover More offers free online account access. With this, you’ll be able to manage your account from any computer that has internet. No more waiting in line at the bank, just log into through Discover’s homepage, move your funds to where you want them, and you’re done. This feature also allows you to pay off your line of credit immediately. Just move money from your savings or checking onto your line of credit.

Also for your convenience—and peace of mind—Discover More will not hold you liable for unauthorized purchases. They understand that sometimes cards get lost or stolen and the cardholder should not suffer if they’re account is tapped into by an impersonator. However, to avoid the headache, keep your card close to you and only use your credit card on secured Websites.

Additional Features:  

Discover More has all of the additional features we’d expect from a good credit card, and some that are just nice additions. To go along with the zero percent fraud liability you’ll receive from Discover More, you’ll also be able to take advantage of a 24/7 fraud specialist who can assist you in any way possible in regards to fraud and your credit card. You’ll also be sent free fraud early warning alerts if Discover notices any funny business going on with your account.

Another feature many credit cards have begun to offer is complimentary travel accident insurance and car rental insurance if you use their card to make the arrangements, and Discover More offers both. Although it does not list a limit to how much is covered in these insurance packages, they are great deals. Extra insurance is a good idea any way. You never know when things will get off track and get a little hairy. These insurance options with Discover More cover you.

While Discover More fit in the credit card category, It can also be used as a rewards card. With every purchase you make using your card you’ll receive a percentage of it in a cash back reward at the end of each month.

Fees/Charges:  

No one wants fees, and most of the time they are avoidable. However, stuff happens, and occasionally we all find ourselves with a nasty little charge we weren’t expecting at the end of the month. The two most common fees are Late Fees and Over Limit Fees. With Discover More you can expect to be charged anywhere between $19 and $39 for paying your credit card bill late. You can also expect to pay in the range of $15 and $39 if you exceed your credit limit. Both of these can be avoided with proper budgeting and awareness of when your billing period is coming up.

Cash Advances are also possible with Discover More. If you choose to do a cash advance, you can expect to pay 23.99% until you’ve completely paid off what you owe. There is also a 2% fee for purchases made outside of the U.S.

In keeping with the theme of going above and beyond, Discover More doesn’t just offer 24/7 customer support; they also offer a guarantee that you’ll be helped within 60 seconds. Through the Discover site you can access phone numbers to all the departments you’d need to get a question answered. This will cut down on the amount of time you have to spend listening to an automated voice aimlessly shepherd you between numbers on your phone’s number pad.

We were also very impressed with the depth of Discover More’s FAQ section. If we had a problem or a simple wonderment, we were able to find the answer in the FAQ section.

If you want a credit card that’s going to go above and beyond its job title, we recommend Discover More. It is complete with features that every good credit card should offer, and then some. We really appreciated the superb financial education program offered, as well as the email alerts and free online account access. Their customer support is also something worth bragging about, with 24/7 customer support, extensive FAQ section, and email support.
