When you're looking for a prepaid credit card that offers customers free phone calls to a customer service agent, the RushCard prepaid Visa card is a viable option. Most fees and features of this card don't set it apart from the competition, but the free calling option is a unique and important advantage, and it's an example that other card issuers should follow.
The RushCard prepaid credit card does not charge and activation fee – a much welcome change to the previous terms of this prepaid credit card (since the previous activation fee was almost $20, double what you would pay with other cards). The monthly service fee for this prepaid credit card is $9.95. When you make a purchase using your PIN, you incur a fee of $1.00 each time. However, non-PIN transactions are free.
Like other prepaid cards, the RushCard is designed to be managed online, but you can purchase a paper statement for just $1.00, which is more reasonable than the paper-statement fee others charge. However, online bill paying is more expensive with the RushCard than with most competitors. If you use your card to pay bills online, there is a one-time $2.00 enrollment fee and each transaction costs $1.00.
Other charges associated with the RushCard include $1.95 for ATM withdrawals and $ .50 for ATM balance inquiries. If the RushCard isn’t used in a 90-day period, a $1.95 inactivity fee is imposed. While we’re generally critical of inactivity fees, this one is lower than that charged by most cards, which can range as high as $9.95.
The RushCard prepaid Visa is one of only a few cards that offers an incentive for referring others to the program. Every time you refer a friend to the program, and that friend becomes an active member, you will receive a $5.00 credit to your account. There’s no limit to the number of referrals that you can make.
The combined maximum amount of purchases and cash withdrawals you can make with the RushCard is $2,000 per day. Of that total, up to $1,500 can be in the form of ATM cash withdrawals, which is more liberal than most other cards, which are often capped at $500 daily. Cash withdrawals from a cashier aren’t available using this card.
Online account management, as well as and email and text message alerts of account transactions and status, are standard features and without charge.
The total amount of money that can be loaded to a RushCard prepaid Visa account is $1,000. Daily maximum deposits are capped at $5,000 for direct deposit and $1,000 for cash transactions. In addition to direct deposit and transfers from bank accounts, you can make deposits via MoneyGram and PayPal. RushCard’s commitment to customer service is evident. This is one card that doesn't impose a limit to free telephone customer service to all customers. They also offer an automated voice response telephone service, as well as customer support by email, fax and standard mail.
When looking for a prepaid credit card, the RushCard Visa is worth a look. Its pricing plans differ somewhat in their structure from other cards, and it could be that it’s just the right card to fit your needs.
