PROS / You can earn points that can be redeemed for a plethora of different rewards.

CONS / This rewards credit card has no introductory APR.

VERDICT / The Chase Sapphire® Card offers a great way to earn rewards like travel, gift cards and merchandise, but it lacks a few benefits come standard on other reward cards.

The Chase Sapphire® Card is a points rewards credit card that you can use on everyday purchases to earn things like travel, cash, gift cards, merchandise and more. For every dollar you spend, you will earn one point. You will earn an additional one point on purchases that are made on dining at restaurants or by booking travel airfare and hotels through Chase’s Ultimate Rewards℠.

A perk Chase offers members that get this card is that if you spend $500 in the first three months with this card, you will get 10,000 bonus points, which is equivalent to $100 in rewards.

We were disappointed this rewards card does not offer an introductory annual percentage rate; your purchases and balance transfers will immediately be held to a 15.24% Variable APR. Additionally, the cash advance APR is 19.24% Variable and the penalty APR is 29.99% Variable.

One upside to this rewards card is it has no annual fee. However, it doesn’t escape a handful of other fees. If you plan to travel with this card, each international purchase will have a 3% fee. Any balance transfers will incur a 3% fee, which can be no lower than $5. Additionally, if you make a cash advance, it will have a 5% fee, no lower than $10.

This Chase card has the standard late fee; you will pay up to $35 for any late payments, and the same goes for any returned payments. However, if you pay your bill within the 21-day grace period, the late fee won’t apply.

The Chase Sapphire® Card comes with a long list of additional benefits, which we were impressed with. Aside from the standard travel accident and rental car insurance, extended product warranty and lost luggage reimbursement you see on many credit cards, this rewards card also has a variety of other benefits. Some of the benefits include access to exclusive events and other entertainment, trip cancellation and delay insurance, roadside assistance and more.

Chase can be contacted with any questions you have about your Chase Sapphire® Card by phone or email. However, to send an email to its member support, you must log into your online account to send it via the Secure Message Center and Chase will respond to your message within four hours.

The Chase Sapphire® Card has many additional benefits aside from credit card rewards. Additionally, you will enjoy having no annual fee, and this rewards card has a sign-up bonus. However, with no introductory APR offer, spending the necessary amount within the first three months to obtain the sign-up bonus may be difficult.
